Ongakuyōbi: Guitar Wolf

This video is terrible sound quality, but it really doesn’t matter with Guitar Wolf. Trashy Rockabilly with more blow-out on their guitars than any Stooges Record, Guitar Wolf is kind of a Japanese Jon Spencer Blues Explosion (even their videos are similar).

Guitar Wolf came out of Nagasaki in 1987 and left a trail of blown-out eardrums. Their live shows are non-stop onslaughts of testosterone.

Best of all, if you can track down a copy of their Rockabilly Zombie movie, do it. I’ll probably get around to reviewing it eventually, but it’s kind of like if Greg Araki directed “Shaun of the Dead.”

Anyway guys, Guitar Wolf.
